Hello and welcome to Hope for Your Health, LLC! My name is Hannah Green and I am a registered nurse and certified functional medicine practitioner. I created this business and blog to reach and help those who are struggling with chronic fatigue and other ongoing health problems.
In 2014, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (an autoimmune condition that slowly destroys the thyroid gland) and adrenal fatigue (a progressive decrease in adrenal function). These resulted in low energy, blurry vision, brain fog, muscle weakness, dizziness, weight gain, and depression (the list of possible symptoms for other individuals is even longer).
I went from being healthy and thriving to having to rest on my bed for 15 minutes after taking a shower because I was so exhausted. Doctors merely told me my test results were normal, that I couldn’t be as sick as I was telling them (yes, a doctor really told me that), and they just kept increasing my thyroid medication which caused me to feel worse after every dose change.
Desperate for answers, my mom dove into researching my symptoms and alternative treatments to what the doctors were recommending. Eventually, when I could stay upright and focused for more than 5 minutes at a time, I dove into the research myself. The things we learned about nutrition and natural remedies literally saved and changed my life.
Over the following five years, I navigated the ups and downs of finding remedies that helped and some that didn’t. I crashed and burned more than once when I got excited about feeling better and tried to do too much too soon. 😉 But the end result was confidence in the power of nutrition and lifestyle to pull someone out of barely surviving and propel them into thriving.
This experience and knowledge redirected my career and in 2020 I completed my certification as a functional medicine practitioner. Hope for Your Health, LLC was born in 2021.
My dream is to bring hope to others who are struggling with chronic conditions and give them the tools they need to actually change their lifestyles (not just dream about it but think it’s too hard for them). This blog will hold information about nutrition, healthy sleep habits, self-care, realistic expectations, recipes, and so much more.
